Germany starup goes EU
The part of the European Commission’s PAXIS programme (The Pilot Action of Excellence on Innovative Start-Ups).
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the project is to bring a new player to the European Innovation Scene: a double network representing the European start-up community.
The SUN (Start Up Network) network
It will be an unique opportunity for start-up to participate in the PAXIS initiative. Members of the network will work in team with the best European specialist of innovative start-up creation.
They will be able to express their concern, voice their critics and test new concepts and tools aimed at facilitating the creation and development of innovative enterprises
It will congregate representatives from the PAXIS networks and projects and from excellent original schemes from all across Europe, including Newly Associated Countries. Members of the network will work in team with innovative start-ups, in order to improve or redesign the European offer in terms of tailored services to innovative start-ups.
This double network will be an excellent networking opportunity and the test-drive for a representative body of the European start-ups community.
SUN&SUP aims to:
stimulate and grow business communities:
underpinned by effective forums for communication,
managed so as to be responsive to emerging priorities, and
resolutely focussed on promoting and achieving business benefits for all participants.
identify, define, and construct actions to realise specific requirements of common concern to all players in each network: early-stage start-up companies (SUN), as well as start-up service providers (SUP).
facilitate comprehension and collaboration between start-up service providers:
exchange of experiences, information and insight;
mutual assessment of common requirements and the necessary means to achieve expected results and benefits.
reinforce comprehension and collaboration between users and providers of services:
awareness by start-ups of issues affecting the services supply industry, as well as ancillary issues affecting their business efficiency;
improved feedback to services suppliers on user requirements, common perceived weaknesses, strengths & expectations;
enhanced awareness by all of common issues, challenges & opportunities currently affecting, or likely to impact, their business.
promote a greater awareness among Start-up Service Providers - and through the latter, to SME start-up companies who are their prospective or current clients
as regards support provided by the European Commission;
provision of a pathway for dialog with the SME-Innovation programme, and
provision of input to its strategic direction-setting deliberations via output and feedback from the SUN&SUP Forums.

Special Research on Entrepreneurship Development in Germany
berlinstartup.de, Jens Hoffmann
We exist to help clients understand their markets, compete more effectively, and grow into new areas of opportunity.
Entrepreneurship
can be another name for the management of start-ups respectively ventures. On the other
hand entrepreneurship can also mean entrepreneurial behaviour and the execution of
entrepreneurial functions within the firm. In case of venture management there is, in fact, no long research tradition. Unlike the US entrepreneurship research, which started very early with first academic contributions in the year the 40ties, in Germany the first entrepreneurship chairs in the area of business studies and economics were founded in the 90ties.
