China as an economic threat, at least in terms of China’s domestic demand, is not a reflection of reality.
But, reality is reality, and there is no right or wrong. Shanghai has obtained a very solid physical infrastructure, and in fact it was so good that I was a bit puzzled at why we want to limit this city’s potential to financial capacity only. Shanghai can be an international and inter-China logistics center and other high-value service center, or even a high-value manufacturing center, thanks to its vast size and ample population.
